Ethical Oversight

1. Research Involving Human Subjects

Ethics Committee Approval: All studies involving human participants or human data must receive prior approval from a recognized institutional review board (IRB) or ethics committee. Authors are required to provide the name of the approving institution, the approval date, and the reference number. These details should be included in both the Methods section and on the title page of the manuscript.

Informed Consent: For case reports or studies involving identifiable personal data, authors must obtain written informed consent from the individuals involved. Authors are responsible for securing, storing, and maintaining the confidentiality of these consent forms. A blank copy of the informed consent form, including all required elements, is published at the link to provide verification information. Original consent forms may be requested if necessary.

Adherence to Ethical Standards: Research must comply with the ethical principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki, as revised by the World Medical Association (WMA) in 2013. Please refer to the notice on the website; WMA Declaration of Helsinki – Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Participants – WMA – The World Medical Association.

2. Research Involving Animals

Ethical Review: All animal studies must be reviewed and approved by an appropriate ethics committee to ensure adherence to high standards of animal care and use. Details of the ethical approval, including the institution's name, approval date, and reference number, should be stated in the manuscript.

3. Ethical Considerations for Various Article Types

Review Articles and Research Notes: Authors must adhere to best practices concerning proper citation, transparent data usage, and avoidance of conflicts of interest. Content should be free from plagiarism, and all data and references must be appropriately attributed. Any ethical issues, such as the handling of sensitive data or potential conflicts of interest, must be disclosed.

Letters to the Editor: Even in less formal communications, authors must ensure that all claims are supported by valid evidence and that any potential conflicts of interest are acknowledged.

For full details of the article submission rules, please see the rules at Author Guideline.

4. Addressing Ethical Concerns

In cases where ethical concerns arise, such as data manipulation, falsification, plagiarism, citation manipulation, authorship misconduct or peer review manipulation, the journal will follow COPE's guidelines to resolve the issue. This includes adhering to COPE's principles for transparency, research integrity, and handling allegations of misconduct both before and after publication.
