Abstract

Giant condyloma acuminatum, also known as Buschke-Löwenstein tumor (BLT) is a very rare sexually transmitted disease which prima-rily affects genital and perianal areas. Human papillomavirus has been identified as contribu-tory to its development.  Buschke-Löwenstein tumor is a unique variant of condyloma acumi-nate. It is categorized by local aggressive beha-vior and recurrence in spite of benign histology. Although various treatments have been used, response is often poor and recurrence rates high. We present a 58 year old male patient with giant condyloma acuminata which was success-fully treated with surgical excision.

Key Words: Buscke-lowenstein tumor, condyloma acuminata, HPV, treatment.
