Abstract

Intratesticular leiomyoma is a benign and rarely observed cause of scrotal mass. It can not be distinguished from a malign testicular mass by using preoperative clinical findings. This may cause the loss of testis because of a benign tumour. In uncertain cases which malign-be-nign decision can not be made clinically, the correct diagnosis and treatment can be achie-ved using peroperatively frozen section proce-dure. Karyotype anomalies in -smooth muscle originated benign tumours- in males is a very rarely observed. The fact that the molecular mechanisms of the leiomioma pathogenesis have not been understood yet, is increasing the importance of karyotype anomalies observed.

Key Words: Testicular, leiomyoma, abnor-mal karyotype
